(A) Proposals for
funding requests shall be presented by the Interdisciplinary
Humanities Committee which may include representation from the
following disciplines:
- History/Philosophy
- English
- Fine Arts/Architecture
- Modern Languages
- Sociology/Anthropology
- Music
(B) Proposals for funding shall be
presented to the Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Humanities
Program. The Coordinator must submit proposals for funding for
the fall semester no later than April 1 and proposals for the spring
semester no later than December 1.
(C) Proposals for funding requests
shall be first submitted for approval to the Executive Committee
before consideration by the Board of Directors.
(D) The Executive Committee shall
present recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Friends of
the Humanities for its consideration.
(E) Proposals for funding shall be
primarily for Humanities instructional materials and other
Humanities related projects such as lectures, concerts,
performances, symposia, course development and/or
enhancement.
(F) Proposal submittals by the
Coordinator for funding for instructional equipment and visual aids
shall be limited to six (6) requests per semester.
THE MATHE' ALLAIN FELLOWSHIPS
(A) A fund of Twenty Thousand dollars
($20,000.00) has been established for the purpose of assisting
members of the faculty in the Humanities in course development
and/or enhancement.
(B) The Interdisciplinary Committee
Coordinator submits requests from faculty members to the Chair of
the Development Committee no later than February 1 of each
year.
(C) The Mathe' Allain Fellowships were
established by an initial deposit of Five Thousand dollars
($5,000.00) from the general account of the Friends of the
Humanities.
(D) Disbursements to the recipients of
the Mathe' Allain Fellowships are made with the net earnings of the
fund.
(E) No single grant shall exceed the
annual sum of One Thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
(F) All applicants and their
requests must meet all funding criteria of the Friends of the
Humanities in order to receive these funds.
(G) A report, in writing, must be given
to the Friends of the Humanities by each recipient within the
semester following the completion of the grant project.
